Need ur chop opinions!!!!!!!

  1. what if you swapped in non wrap around back glass, maybe early fifties chevy. you could rework the area over the rear window only to take out some of the "bubble". this way you may not need to cut the front of the sail panel off of the body and you could leave all the side trim intact. i'd have to stare at it alot more to see if this would realy work.

While I like your idea of a subtle chop, after looking at the cars sans fins, I think you should leave the fins.

I think you're on the right track, but maybe look at the gold Caddy posted previously, and combine that look with your chop.

its really difficult to get a chop on a Cadi right but very easy to fuk it up.

cutting fins off?? why?? there is a reason why so many add Cadi rear qaurters or fins and you want to remove? I dont get it

i think the new roofline and sloped rear glass is much better.
    But i don't think i like tail.
i guess i'll keep the rear as is.
i was trying to slope the rear in some way.
i like the sloped rears of early 50's cads. (They look fast).
Late 50's Cads are defined by their tail fins.
But 54, 55 and 56 are kind of in the middle.
I love the car but was seeing if there was some customizing that could be done.
    I guess not.
    Don't want to force it.

Actually, I like your thinking regarding the original plan.
The subtle drop at the back only will work nice to help offset the way the belt line dips at the back which makes the side window opening look larger at the back than at the front which is something that always bugs me on that body style.
A subtle drop only in the back will give that a much nicer tapered shape.

mild chop and finless , i like any subtle mod that draws you over and makes you study the car to figure out what's been done!!

Leave the fins. And if you want to chop a Caddy find a bucket to practice on first so you don't screw up a good one.

IMO, restraint is the key to building a truly stand-out car. Any damn fool with a chequebook can build an over-the-top circus wagon.

Trimming the angle where the fin rises could smooth out the lines in the rear and dropping the tail (or I guess in yor case lifting the front) could give it that fast look you're looking for. Tail draggers always look like they're going 100 mph even when they're standing still.

i think this photoshop treatment of the tail light fins is an improvement.
I like the slight slope downward.
    What do you guys think?
