I dig it! perhaps some pinstiping to complement it?

 

ACME votes YES. It looks good on the truck. No reason to justify it with an engine or anything else.

If I had to justify the details on my 36, I would have a really hard time.

36 Packard headlights.
34 Chevy hood sides.
40 La Salle grill.
37 Lincoln Zephyr tail lights.
Chevy steering wheel.


If the parts look good and work then use them.

when did i say it made it a pontiac? I did how ever say that it makes it part pontiac. refering to the comments about if they are going to use the ornament then they should change the motor to make it part pontiac. That is asinine.

 

My truck has Uniroyals on it. Guess that makes it part Uniroyal. If it didn't roll thru Pontiac's assembly line, it will never be a Pontiac. And I prefer the word DICK. Thank you.

 

Looks like a 49-50 as the hood shape is similar,also for the GMC conissuer,55-59 GMC used Poncho engines,not Chev and the big trucks used Olds as I drove a 58 tandem with an Olds in it. Ornament looks cool,add a 389 and its done!

 

Buick 322 in a lot of those trucks.

 

I like it-when I see one I always remember a long time ago I was looking at one (on a Pontiac), and my dad asked me if I knew what that Indian was looking for. I said "no", and he said "he's looking for a gas station-those old Pontiacs sure used a lot of gas".

My 55 Chieftain has a poncho, my 55 Starchief has a poncho, my 29 Poncho roadster will have a poncho, my 58 Chevy has a Chevy...........some people don't mix and match.

It amazes me that a cool hood ornament can get two of us into a cat fight. Holy crap, I have a billet aluminum blower idler mount on my 392, that could start a real fight . . .

The New Year is coming boys . . . we're just about out of the 'Decade of Disasters' . . . hang in there just a few more days . . .

Who'd uf thunk, a Hood ornament could cause soo much Drama! Just use the damn thing if you want to......or don't! Opinions are like assholes...everyone has one.

 

Pontiac was an Ottowa Chief from the Detroit area - not a southwest Apache. It's a stretch at best IMHO.

I was gonna do that to my altered wheelbase 51 Ford, because it had a 421 Pontiac in it. But, it looks good, I'd leave it on. BTW, I also put a 51 Pontiac steering wheel in my 38 Chevy. Go for it....NO RULES, right?
