  1. Wow, quite the banged up arm. It sounds like it'll all heal nicely though. That's great news.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the update and it is good to hear that she is doing good. My
daughter is aware of the situation and she asks about her everyday.
We will continue our prayers and she will be out in no time........

    God Bless,

    Mick

  3. Happy to hear she's progressing, and sorry for the need for continued surgeries... but better than the alternative.
She hasn't been far from my thoughts since you first posted this. That's a lot for a little one to have to suffer through...

My best wishes to you guys and to her speedy recovery... and I hope they let her go home soon.

Glad to hear the fabulous news. I check the thread every now and then for an update.

I know about the extended hospital stay, when my first child was born, she had transient tachypneawhich is just a couple fancy words that say she was hyperventilating. I guess babies exercise their diaphrams by passing amniotic fluidin and out of their lungs in the womb. They're supposed to loose most of this fluid at birth, but if there is an excess, it makes them breath quickly. My daughter was in the NICU with a clear ice bucket with no bottom and a half circle in the side for her neck that had O2 hoses hooked up to it for a week. She was in no real danger, this happens a couple times a week at the hospital, a normal occurance, still it was scary for a first time father.

I was at the hospital for 156 hours, which is 6.5 days, only going home to shower and one day while my wife stayed at the hospital, I got about 3 hours sleep in my own bed. Again, she was in no danger, but it didn't feel right to leave her alone during her first week of life outside the womb. I remember in the 3rd grade, I broke my arm and for some reason, spent the night in the hospital. Woke up the next morning seeing my dad sleeping in a chair and a bunch of comic books spread across my blanket, figured if I was as important to him to stay, she was important to me. The sad thing to see was my big (19" 8 lb. 5 oz.) baby with all the preemies and drug babies, she was like King Kong compared to some of the tiny kids. The addict moms and dads coming in to see their kids, I guess at least they were seeing them.

The hospital has a NICU reunion once a year, they put a tent up outside and have clowns, hot dogs, baloons, games and such. We don't go every year, but it's sorta neat.

Awesome. So happy to hear. I flipped a shopping cart when Courtland was 4. I felt like shit and it was horrible. I broke his leg above the right knee and he had pins and a contraption like a halo on his leg. Knowing he was OK finally made it better but it was a horrifying experience to know how fragile these little ones are. He turned 14 last week and thinks he's invincible! I can't wait for the day that you look back on this and smile because you know she is!!! God Bless.

  17. Glad everything worked out for your little girl.....glad we dont have too many snake were I live.......stan

That's the best news I've heard in a long time. I have a little girl myself and can't even imagine the hell you must have gone through. Nice to know that sometimes prayers get answered when it's really important!!
