Zapato, So sorry to hear about your wife's unfortunate accident. My thoughts and prayers go out to you, your wife and your family. Have faith, my friend and may God watch over your wife and bring her a speedy recovery.
Guys, gotta tell you reading your responses at the end of what seem like 72 hour days is a lift that I can't find words to express. Can't think of a better bunch of guys to have my back and I and my daughter (Meghann) thank you all for it. Anyway she's making a bit of progress starting to recognize people and responding better to us when we speak and ask her to perform simple task such as holding up two fingers. Its a long way to being well but its a start and believe me any thing she does seems better than special these days. Today I returned to the hospital after a very short night at home and she was awake and her nurse told she had a visitor asked her to turn her head to where I was standing ans asked her if she knew who I was and she said my name. Let me tell you I've heard my name thousands of times with many different inflections some good and at times deservedly not so nice. Never in my life did it sound as sweet as that moment. Truly was a heavenly gift that has helped me deal with a lot of garbage today. Anyway thanks for having my back and once again I'm asking that you continue praying for her. I'll never forget this act of kindness from my HAMB brothers and sisters. Zap
Glad to hear she is being moved to a more personal touch care ! Just that alone will help her come around faster !! Still with ya here ... YOU need to rest TOO ! She will need you more each day as she recovers, TAKE A BREAK, she is in good hands.
Zapato, God bless you and your family in this situation. As a librarian, I need to send you this web address, National Library of Medicine info site...it might help you figure out things and ask the right questions about treatments. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/healthtopics.html You can search several ways and use a med dictionary, drug information, doctor directories, etc. so you can comprehend technobabble and cut through to the questions you need to ask.
