I need to repaint my car. I am not concerned with that so much right now. But i just need some one in Austin or near by to spry a black or gray primer.
Maybe add some scallops too as I will most likely be saving a while to get the paint I really want. So I want to make it look some what nice. I do not even need the top of the car sprayed. I have asked around and I have gotten some stupidly high quotes or people just wont do it. Can some one here help? I will even buy the paint.

  2. its kinda hard to fuck up primer (but it can be done) , find someone with a compressor and a sprayer , buy some primer and have at it.. if you fuck it up you can always sand it off and go again.. good luck man..

Up here in the frozen tundra we do a lot of favor swaps. Do you have a talent that you could swap to local to entice him to wanna jump in? When you say,"I will even buy the paint", ........I have to say that, yes you will......at the very least buy the paint. There aren't too many guys I know with talent who will put their talent to use for less than $50 an hour. So perhaps offering a fair hourly might help in your quest.......

......... one man's thoughts....... take 'em or leave 'em

I know. I wouldn't charge less than 50 and that's low. I would actually try to propose a swap of talents. As far as fucking up primer.. I have seen it a lot.

O'Reilly's sells the cheap primer, thinner, and the tape/supplies. Buy a Harbor Frieght paint gun, buy a cheap compressor...do it in your driveway. It'll cost the same as paying someone to do it on a "budget". You'll have the experience under your belt, and you can be proud that you did the work on your own car, no matter how terrible or good it turned out.

  6. Go rent a compressor and buy a cheap gun and do it yourself. If it ends up looking like crap you can be proud you did it yourself and you didnt write a check for it.

As soon as I get a job I will defiantly do that. What king of tool do I need to pull all of the chrome with out breaking it? and where would I buy clips?

  8. You sound like a young guy, so take it from an old fart , try to do as much as you can yourself. Ok you might fuck-up now and then but thats how you learn . I know I learnt plenty.
