Hi all, I scored a Neilson Solid Cam for a 331 Hemi a while back that came without a spec sheet, The end of the cam is stamped “Neilson 50 10 276M. Any info on the specs would be appreciated, Cheers
Thanks, I read this in another thread. He was apparently a good guy. I was hoping someone had info on his cam specs or had the same cam and had the info.
I would ***ume the first two numbers are valve timing events and the 276 is the duration. If you have a degree wheel and a dial indicator it's pretty easy, although time consuming, to measure all of the pertinent cam specs.
Thanks for your input, but I ***umed that would be the Neilson model #5010 for a Chrysler Cam. No disrespect but ***umptions have got me in trouble in the past or wasted a lot of time. Just hoping someone may have the correct spec sheet. I do have a degree wheel and dial indicator and with the help from an old engine builder mate just did the cam timing on a Cad motor I’ve built, as he said, without the cam card he is stumped also, and he has built many. He’s not saying it can’t be done ,just unsure how to get around it.
Yeah,,,it was sad to hear of his p***ing,,,, i think that 73RR posted this not long ago. Chris had reground 2 cams for me several years ago. They were hyd. rollers for Mopar,,,3.9 V6. He did an awesome job,,and they worked great ! Tommy
I've had a Nielsen regrind in my avatar Flathead six for about 25 years. Great cam. Did not know he had p***ed. Too bad.
I believe I have two uninstalled Chris Neilson cams .....flat tappet.....one each for 331 and 354 Chrysler hemis. I will dig them out and see what the spec cards say.....just don’t expect an immediate reply.... they are not for sale....I have the engines they are destined for. Ray
