96 Olympics, here in Atlanta..........................It was a Mylar applique, only shinier.................I eyeballed it quite a bit.

  2. I gotta say with my addiction to shiny I like it! idunno though i think it would be better if it was totally chrome :D

Was this guy drivin it? I like body lines to flow, just cause you can chrome a gas door or fender doesnt mean you should! This truck dont look bad though?

I agree, I am not sure I like it, but it is definatly bad-***.

  5. If it's Spectra Chrome, it should be turning yellow and peeling off within a month. That **** is a flucking joke.

No you don't. I can never get my own stuff done. Maybe a big shop with all the nice equipment to start off with $$$.

I like the truck, but it would flow better if the hood were chromed and the tailgate wasn't. It would take some mighty large tanks to chrome the fenders. A lot of tanks for bumpers would be too narrow.

Reminds me of the NA$CAR team that ran chrome body panels on a Collonade-style Olds Cutl*** for a couple of races one season. Weird as hell! Drivers were obviously getting blinded by the car, so they were forced to pull it after (I think) two races, was all.

Don't know if I'd want to drive anything with THAT much chrome, such as that Effie.

I sort of dig the look and would certainly take a good long second look at the truck wherever I saw it, but wouldn't do it to my own. And certainly the motor is cool. Glad you took the pics and posted them.

And if it is that stupid spray chrome, then I take it all back...

If that's real chrome, I guess there's no bondo in those fenders, huh?

There was a guy around Portland we called Chromy George that did that back in the early 70s. He was a member of the NWPCA (push car ***osiation) when I was active in circle track. It was a 56 ford like that and was at a couple of Portland Roadster Shows back then.

does anyone read the entire thread? the guy who owned it said it was done over 20 years ago, it's not spectra chrome then, if it was going to peel in a month, it would have peeled 19 years and 11 months ago. :D it looks to be more of a low rider style, except it's not an inch off the ground.
