Just curious... how many rims would you have to order to warrent a production run... centers would be added when order is placed... so if you had pre orders for the pairs or sets (to me, if I couldn't get both I really wouldn't be interested) how many orders do you need... set the amount and have a wait list... when commitments are made - go for it! By the way, I'm surprised you didn't comment on the Imperial rim that I posted - you guys did a great job
Me too... But you could save a lot of centers that are laying around out there trapped in rotten rims... I looked at a lot of wheels with bad rims that still had good centers to find two good pair of wheels... I have one in my garage that I was gonna make a grinder stand...
Ha-Ha-Ha! Ain't that the truth. Just for information purposes, the modern Mopar spare wheels are 16 X 4 (maybe 4.5?), but they have a 4.5 bolt circle, not 5.5. I found individuals in the boneyard & made a set for very cheap. And, they're essentially new. As long as you are salvaging wheels & swapping centers & rims, etc., I just thought I'd throw this out (for what it's worth).
I have a set of V8-60 wide fives and a set of 40's that I was going to send you to swap the hoop so I can have 3.5" '40's. So I guess you know which one I'd prefer.
I'd buy a pair of 16x3.5" if they where exactly like the 1940 wheel. And I mean exact so you could not tell any differens at all. Thanks for considering making a repop.... and I hope we will someday see a proper 18x3.62" high clearence wheel also. Magnus
No jimmy, pay attention! '40 wheels. No one wants to see that big bolt pattern junk... Haha. I thought I heard that 3.5" wheels were not DOT approved, thus weren't made. I guess that's not true?
please do not take any 16x4 rims to make either 3.5 or 5". use the 4.5. just not enough 4" around to have them cut up.
Id like to see you make both ,Fronts and rears ......My dad could use a set depending on price ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I like the idea of both, since I really own only model A's and this combo would be perfect. Could you bring the cost down if you could find centers easier?? Hell, I can give you about 5 for free to help the cause!
my vote is 16x3.5 . i have found the 16x5 to be some what commont. we have found at least 3 pair in junkyards. i have never seen or layed hands on a 16x3.5.
I have a 3 1/2 inch wheel but it is a wide five wheel, not the more common wheel to run. I have seen alot of 5 inchers but never bought them because I didn't need them. I bet finding them now would be hard to do if I needed them. Make them both!
i'm in the market for some, I think the 5" rears and 3.5" fronts would make a cool set for me. If I had to choose one though, I would go for the 5" since I can find 4" for the fronts fairly easily. The 6" aftermarket wheels just seem to wide to me.
I have two highboy roadsters, one has 3 1/2's and the other has 4's on the fronts. The 3 1/2's look much better and the difference is very apparent. I would definately go for at least a couple of pairs if you made them and I would think the 5's would be good sellers as well.
Hey Keither, What size tire are you running on the 3.5 wheel? I have a set of 3.5's for my roadster also...I'm thinlking of going with 5:00 X 16's Vintage Firestone M/C tires that will match up the rears....
