Dude if you can't figure out a better way to do it then maybe you shouldn't be buildin' a car to begin with.

OH WAIT! Is it a RAT ROD?!?! Oh well in that case I stand corrected. It's goddammed perfect.

Safe or not, that solution just looks kooky.

Actually, I've seen about 50000000 A coupes up close, and yes, I have no clue what the **** you're talking about. They come with a trunk, no? What most normal folks might think about doing is putting in a steel firewall to seal the trunk area from the p***enger compartment, then building a wedge shaped tank to go against said firewall, thus leaving you with maximum use of the aforementioned trunk.

No matter what you think, those are NOT gas tanks, they're gas cans.....I know it's hard to admit an idea ****s when you're the guy that thought it up, but get a ****in clue cousin!

  7. LOtownvw, not having as go mate but Fuel Cell. By definition they are double walled, usually a high impact polyethylene outer and a collapsible baffled inner lining so that in a m***ive impact the danger of rupture is very low. Ugly things but is it worth your life not to use one in this situation?
Even a fabricated aluminium tank with a steel firewall that will deflect fuel out and away from the p***enger compartment and afford time for you to get out/be rescued. We are not ****ing with you, this is a real danger bro.
The car I dragged the chick out of was an early VW with the cowl tank, yeah she p***ed out but it dosent happen straight away, took a while. So I’m not a fan of that and don’t have one in my 28 RPU.
    Doc.
