anyone bought them ? the ones speedway carrys is for 2 inch wide shoes. i wanted to know if anyone is using them with F-250 backing plates and stock hubs. the problem i ran into with the stock 40-48 brake drums is the dust lip on the drum hits the backing plate but will clear if cut off but they are for 1-3/4 shoes like lincoln. the f250 shoes are 2" and available and the speedway drums state they are made to use 2" shoes

  2. Talk with VAPHEAD. He sells the 2" drums and the Lincoln brakes with 2" shoes. There are some details about lug bolts and swedging that he is up on as well.

Doesn't anyone re-sleeve them any more? We were talking about it this weekend my front drums on my coupe are junk , one of the guys was saying that years ago they would turn them then interference fit a steal band , be like new.

Contact Richard Early V8, sometimes on here, always on Fordbarn, and Dave Wilton, on Fordbarn...both sell and deal with this stuff. The new drums have so many differences from originals there are lots of puzzles, but one of those guys should know.
