Hey guys planning on build up this 53 I got my hands on its just the body but I got a parts car with dash stuff, gl***, seats etc I'm looking to stay cheap on this build so back yard making things work and what not I have a nice built SBC and th350 I wanna use and I was thinking of using the trailing arm set up out of my old GMC and run bags in the back. My question is what rear ends do you guys swap in? And motor mount and ****** mount kits to fit my chev in? I also have a nice 57 chev frame I thought maybe I could put the body on that but I imagine it's best to stick with the stock frame

Unless you are into alot of fabricating, I would stick to the stock frame. There are quite a few Ford rear axles that will bolt in using the '53 rear springs, etc. I'm using a '70 Mavrick 8" in my '54 Club Coupe.. It bolts right in. Early Mustangs with a 5 lug bolt pattern will also work. Do a search here, there was an extensive list with dimentions and years.
