Thanks for the invite Jeff! This is the first Ford of this this style I have owned.I also have a 62 Falcon in process. The photoshop in my avatar is what I am going for.My wife is already trying to take this car,to bad she cant drive a stick!Anyway just wanted to do a quick intro.i will keep my thread up as soon as any progress is made.I think i am going to do an air over leaf and bag the front an cruise this summer.Maybe I will have the falcon done or sold by fall. Then it will be time to start cutting. The chop will be a slant type with a 50 ford back window. If there are any threads with our type cars chopped please let me know. Thanks Eddy

Welcome from Texas! Be sure to post some photos of your new Ford project.

The subject of chopping comes up here every so often, and we all scurry around and try to find photos of '52 - '56 Fords that have been successfully chopped.

Sorry to say, we've come up dry so far. Not that there haven't been attempts, but these cars, especially the sedans, just don't seem to lend themselves to gracefulness under the knife. I've seen a coupe or two that was p***able and several hardtops, but none that looked better after they were chopped than before...in my humble opinion, of course.

As you do your own homework on the subject, please post pix of chopped cars that you like. We'll keep looking, too. Perhaps between all of our efforts we can come up with an example or two that will help you plan your project.

    :)

    Welcome to our group !
I also have owned a couple Falcons in my time as well . Had a 1960 and 1966 and both rusted up but served me very well . Wish I still had the 60 Falcon .

Hey, welcome aboard! Not a bad place here in cyberland.

Oh and Falcons? Who hasn't had one, once upon a time? Had a '61 2door 6 cylinder stick. Nice solid little car for what it was, cheap to drive and it never let me down even when the starter went out, I just had to park on a hill :).

PM Skoh73 (Scott) for the pic-posting secrets. Or, you can do a search on this group for more info. You'll need to use the cut/paste method using Image Shack or similar hosting site. It's easy...but a bit tedious. Good luck!
