Hi, new to the forum here. Before I begin I'm 16 living on the east coast. Being young and currently job less I have a very small, next to nothing budget. My daily driver is an 80 camaro but I'm looking for a pre 64 project car. I've always hated the easter egg colored, big rimmed fiberglass junk I see at shows and never liked the extremly channeled***** hole rat rods either. My passion is for traditional hot rods with period correct parts, not 350 700r4 drivetrains and s10 frames. Unfortunately with my budget none of this stuff is even relatively affordable. Yesterday I drove up to jersey to look at a running driving 283 powered 56 4 door 210. Like most cars of its age on the east coast, more specifically the beach it was a rusted mess aside from the non existent floors, I could stick my hand in the frame. This was a Simaliar sight to a local 63 impala I looked at previously. I'm not an idiot (at least I don't think so) when it comes to cars. Thinking my best bet would be to go with a flat head six car. Or post tri five blue flame Chevy. Also aside from my financial limitation how much rust really makes a car unsafe?
