This was just delivered to our shop yesterday. The owner bought the truck when he was 10 years old and decided after 40 years of sitting in various garages it was time to do something with it. He had a 73 camaro front frame clip installed and 4 link rear suspension. We have a fair amount of cleanup work to do in order to give the truck a more traditional look. Here is mock up done by Troy Weston.

Started tearing down to prep the truck for sandblasting. Unfortunately the previous shop warped everything the welded to the truck. The bottoms of the cowl on both sides are ****ed in 3/4". I went and bought a parts truck to scavenge alot of the bead lines and inner rear panels. I hope to have that truck by the end of this week.

Here are some rust holes they spott welded patches over.

This is the end of the front stub frame.

We had to plasma cut off both rear fenders. All the bolts were snapped off so the welded them to the quarter panel.

A little of this morning's progress.

Replaced the center of the firewall to smooth it out and add some room to the p***enger compartment.

The old section and pieces that had been previously installed. 1/8" plate is a little overkill for a firewall.

New 18 gauge panel with a X bead line rolled in for strength.

Subscribing to see this beauty come back to life. Great work so far straightening out someone's mess. Looks like a fairly solid old Chevy.

Yeah, they spread the frame out to fit the camaro clip, which caused a bunch of issues with the running board fit. The truck is very solid except were it had been previously repaired incorrectly. That is one good looking truck blasted!

Wait until you see the parts truck we bought! The roof is separated from the body. We are hoping to have it on Monday.

Here is the beauty of a parts truck! It was once a painting contractors truck.

If there is any parts somebody needs let us know. We mainly bought the truck for the inner side panels.

This looks like it is going to be a cool project. I think I'll be following along at least until you get to the point of installing the orange **** carpet....you did say this was going to be a traditional build didn't you
