Mailman just delivered my new Pay Pryor produced Auburn Dash Panel. I've had a number of originals and this one is a perfect reproduction down to the rivets holding insert. $625 delivered to my door. A bargain compared to some of the prices I've seen for crusty originals. Take a dam good eye to tell this one from a nice original.
Looks fab... I so wanted an Auburn insert for my 32, but these repro's came about 3 years too late for my project.
I built my 32 3 window with an entire 32 Auburn sedan dash which was almost a bolt in but did require an electric cowl vent. Also got lucky and snagged a second complete Auburn dash for my Henry Roadster. sheet metal and insert. I'll see if I can get a couple pictures posted?
That is one nice unit and when it comes to having a tired original brought back to show quality the price isn't all that bad compared.
I bought one of these from "Phoenix Machine" that fits the 32 dash without modification. Fantastic machine work!
I've got the Phoenix Machine 5 gauge Auburn panel in my chopped deuce tudor and the yellow deuce roadster that's my avatar. Excellent quality part. The Pat Pryor Auburn insert is more for guys looking for the look that an authentic insert gives an old timey build. Both styles built by guys that care.
Really like the steering column in both photos. So much better than a GM tilt with key in the column JMO
The steering columns are both pieces I used to manufacture when I was doing lots of shows. Both are 1.5 in diameter but 39 style is tapered at the top 4 inches out to 1.75 to just fit in the 39 wheel and the 40 style column has press on CNC'd aluminum top bell replicating the 40 PU column. Sold both as a package (column & wheel) either 39 or 40 for $495. In the new yellow roadster I used the IDIDIT 40 style column with column shift, horn and turn signals with 16 inch Lime Works 40 Ford wheel. Pricey but nice.
$600 for the complete chromed dash as you see it in the picture including the riveted original style insert. $25.00 for shipping. He offers several panels for various sized gauges.
Everyone uses the engine turned insert on their dash panel, I wanted something different so I made new inserts and painted them black wrinkle, just my 2 cents!
I totally agree with you, it harks back to a time when talented illustrators drew everything, nothing like traditional packaging. HRP
Bandit: Yours looks just like the 2 I have from Phoenix Machine in the Yellow roadster and Highboy sedan shown above. I've been using Auto Meter Old Tyme Black & White gauges with the GPS speedo
@krylon32 , Those are SW wings with electronic speedo. I ran out of holes for gauges. I run 2 temp gauges, I want to add a boost gauge and volts. Adding a panel below my switches might look real tacky. Maybe one on each side of the switches? Also look cool to remake my aluminum floor shift plate to hold the two gauges angled up at me. That would be a lot of work!
Pat, the gentleman who is making this, is an incredible dude. He doesn't settle for anything less than 100% perfection. Hats off to him. Glad he is taking this on and currently making period correct gauges as well.
