Great idea and looks the business.
While admiring you work it came to mind that especially with your setup which looks to be both LH and RH matched, if you wanted to go one step further and add some homemade fins and as suggested an air scoop up front and get the pattern cast they would look a million dollars.

Or better still just fin a whole fry pan and get it cast and then just cut out where the caliper is required.

Great job! I'm always checking cook ware for ideas as it is usually stamped or cast and has curves i cant make myself. I found an electric wok with a 14 inch domed spun aluminum lid that looks like a Holman Moody aircleaner top- 3bucks at the thrift store.- fits on my Holley like a dream. Theres a thread here somewhere that showed some side draft carbs with ladles and perfed mesh sheet as scoops. The old school Stainless ladles that are more football shaped with the handle that attaches at the laces, holding the bowl by the side. really slick. -rick

One more reason why if you miss just one day on the HAMB you just might not be aware of some solution that will make your project go smoother.

Backing plates look great, needs a few speed holes to ventilate it though. Fuzzface has the right idea, dog bowls are the right size for a lot of stuff, cheap too.

I keep looking at the chrome outlet on hand dryers and thinking velocity stack.

It's always a good feeling when you find something and think, "Hey, that would be perfect for my project!" My son and I are notorious for that, but it also runs in the family...

What would Martha Stewart think of the idea? She soon will be advertising them on the HAMB and they will come in colors.
