Test monkeys are available. And they will supply their own bananas! Looking forward to updates; that motor is really cool ( and quite an undertaking).Keep up the good work!
Hassleton? Used to live there just up Allisonville Rd. past the Mall, when I first moved there in 1988. Then we built a house near Stop 11 and Arlington. My shop was downtown, NE corner, just off Mass. Tod
I'm also working on a few new heads for Model A's. A dual plug version that Snyder wants, a Winfield copy with standard or crow's foot chamber (6:1 or 7:1), a new Thomas version from a pattern made by me, instead of a guy who fancies himself a pattern maker, and an aluminum 6:1 stock looking head that is identical to the one I make for Snyder. Once I recover my investment, I will be selling all of them through Snyder's. And, I really want to duplicate the Brumfield head. Purely personal. This all should probably have been in a new thread. Tod
Yeah, I need to stay busy. I just found out that I may be able to sell about 10 new model A blocks to one guy. I'll have to start pushing my foundry on that. I've been working with a new core shop for special cores for the heads and the blocks. Better weather will bring more productivity. Tod
How much more productive could you be? Great job on these projects. I'm looking forward to the new Winfield heads and blocks
I can always do more. Today I started cutting the crow's foot chamber insert for the 7:1 Winfields. It will cut all night and then I cut the core prints for that side and it is finished. By the end of the week all pattern work for both versions of the Winfields will be finished. Then I start cutting the new Thomas head. Tod
The crow's foot chambers are all cut. I need to cut the core prints for the water jacket and it is finished. Tod
This is all exciting news. I missed it if it was above, are you casting these new heads in Aluminum or Cast Iron? I am interested in a cast iron Winfield.
I will be doing both. Right now I have several deposits for iron versions for some of the Barners. Tod
Been a while, but I am finishing up a block we hope to build and run. I have had a bunch going on, with new heads, some outside pattern work for friends, and selling off my Cleveland project. Never a dull moment. Tod
Heads are moving along. Cores should be in around Oct. 10th. I have cores at the aluminum foundry to make a couple of sample aluminum blocks. Block fixturing is coming along also. I wanted more to be finished by Hershey but it's just not going to happen. Too much to do, no worthwhile help, and very little time. Tod
I have one core shop working on the new core system for the upper****embly of the block. The permanent fixturing is very far along and the production programming is almost complete. The cores for the Winfields will be coming from 2 shops, one for sampling, and one for production. The new Thomas heads for Snyder will be ready when he is out of his current supply. The dual plug heads are also near completion. The 6:1 aluminum are ready to go any time. I will be starting a new single carb intake to replace the old stuff. It has been modeled up for some time but I haven't had time to make it. The headers are also ready to be machined. Many things to do as I phase out of the Cleveland project. Tod
The new core box for the Winfields is finished, except for the required venting the core shop needs to blow the cores. That should be done this week and cores will be ready for both sampling and prototyping early next week. Looks like I'll miss sample castings for Hershey by a week. Moving along nevertheless. Tod
