Will be checking out New Bern, NC and surrounding areas. Any good places to check out. Might be moving there.
I'm just up the road in Greenville. New Bern is a real nice place, lots of history (first capital of NC), Bavarian heritage, close to the beach, convenient to other parts of the state. Jacksonville has a small traditional rod/custom scene, as does Wilmington just over an hour south.
I'm a museum geek. can't go wrong with Tryon Palace. Also home to Pepsi cola and if you have kids a great ice cream shop in the downton area--don't remember what its called, but cow themed. lots of great resaurants and shops. nice lttle town (interviewed for a job there once) don't know about the car scene
Lived there a few years, just visited there last week Cool place, like posted, Wilmington / Jacksonville have more of a car scene. Small town, good beach stuff.
i did some work in New Bern a while back. installed the kitchen in the convention center. i seem to remember that they rolled up the sidewalks at 5 PM but it was a pretty town.
Thanks Everyone for the info. I will be going up on July 4th weekend to check out some of the building I found for rent.
