Some new headers in the works.....I hate the fenderwell headers they were just a last minute band-aid before the hamb drag in August and the car deserved something nicer.

the little stand on the back side has a piece of all-thread in each post so I could move them up and down to find the angle I wanted.

  8. You trying to clean the top of the tires off, why the angle up ? ahw it's downforce to keep the front end down....lol

    two reasons....
I didnt want them pointed down and blowing dirt everywhere and I didnt want them along the rocker like a T-bucket. They are like an upswept header...I call them "midswept"

  10. I figured the blowing dirt on the tire contact but not the t-bucket part. I had an old set of upswepts I was going to cut to fit the truck, sold them for 50 bucks and bought fenderwells.[IMG]
Everything pretty much the same as far as length and tube size to the others you were running ?

I wasnt worried about the dust/tire contact at the track...but more about normal driving, parking lots, the pits, cruise nights etc..

I went to a bigger diameter pipe and collector.

Have you fired it up with the new pipes? I'd like to hear it. Are those Borlas mufflers, or big merge collectors? After we built a set of headers this winter I have a new appreciation for the effort involved. Curious to see what difference they make on the track too. Nice pass btw.

seems like the new position is going to add alot of noise at your ear (when street driving it). Congrats on the 9 sec club.. that is a beast.

Now that it runs that hard, do you have to do anything else to the chassis or is it certified to that level already (or are you getting close to the next level)

  15. Holy shit thats awesome!
I have a zz502 in the works for mine. I'd love to yack with you about your engine build. Are you on the bottle?

No, that pic was just taken yesterday...and they are just tacked together. No muffler, just a merge collector.

yes, I still need to get an inspector to look at it and give me some directions on certification. I have all the sfi stuff.

    a 502 and a 505 are two totally different motors....the 505 or more commonly known as a 496 has a longer stroke...no bottle.

I wanted to update this....here are the headers after jet hot coating.

The volume of noise has been cut in half with the new Borla collector....i didnt think it would reduce the noise at all with the larger diameter tubes and the 4.5" collector but there is enough material inside that it did help....a lot!

a company called Manfrotto makes it for less than $30.00....it has a stud that is threaded the same way your camera is. I made another piece that mounts to it and swivels back and forth so I can point the camera left and right....it obviously can swivel up and down on the bar.

No, but thanks for asking, Still the fastest time has been a 9.96 and with the AZ heat we wont be running until August at Mokan.....we ran some trophy classes at the last event. I went thru four rounds and won against a red light, but the day was getting long so I put it on the trailer and went home. I have been working on a 66 Nova, chromoly round tube chassis, looking to run hight 7's with it. NHRA cert will be 25.4

We will have the model A at the hamb drags in august, I cant wait.

If you wanna see more of the Nova take a look at my website, the build pics are there.
