I guess he means Brookville Roadsters. It depends on how particular you are but the ones I've known of have needed work before painting.
Brookville builds a nice body, but they do require some metal finishing to look right, and unless they've changed things, the metal underneath the red oxide primer has not been properly cleaned or etched and they tell you to get it all off and do it right, and that the primer they spray is just to keep it from rusting till the customer gets it.
The last Brookville 32 bodies I got were in bare metal wrapped in a tarp for protection from the elements.
What he said... Since it might take me awhile I wanted to get the body sprayed in epoxy primer early on. The painter I took it to said he didn't have to do to much work getting it ready to shoot. The car ('32 Ford roadster) will go back to the same painter for the shiny stuff later. -Dave
Well, I guess they've changed from when mine was made then, as like I stated earlier, it was sprayed with red oxide primer over an unprepared surface, real PITA to get it off.
