Hello to all fellow members.I happened to run across this forum and thought this was a cool place to be.I don't own a hot rod(at least not yet)and I am into drag racing,especially nostalgia racing.When I was a kid I use to live nearby U.S.30 Drag Strip(Where the Great One's Run)in Merriville,IN. and would go just about every Sunday and some Wednesday nights.I hated to see them close the strip up,but they lost the right to exist after people from around the area of the drag strip started to complain about the noise level.These are the same people that built their houses towards the finish line of the strip and not the people that were living there when the strip first opened.I have a brother who was into drag racing(Vega,Camaro,Corvette)but who recently got away from it because of the high cost of racing.He has since sold his cars and still yearns to go back to it one day.I'm also an avid model car builder and diorama maker and am in the process of doing a full layout of a drag strip in my ba*****t,so I will be asking a lot of questions from you guy's and hope you will be able to help me out.Thanks for having me and I will shut up now.
