Cool and you can even tell what color the engine is. That's something in it's self for one a guy just picked up.

  4. Ditto, these things make great cruisers. Back in the day the Buick guys used to do a 5-3 split exhaust which I'm told sounded pretty interesting.

  5. I always loved the step on the gas pedal to start, god what a great car! I am green

Great to see another 51 buick! These cars float down the road and are fun to drive. Fix it up and drive it. Good luck!

Go easy on the old Dynaflow, and NEVER shift from Low to High with your foor on the gas... Adjust the brakes every thousand miles - not kidding! - and they will work much better. Cool car, the in-line 8 has an great personality to it, enjoy the car!

Had a 52 Special just like that for about 4-5 years. Got it cheap had a real "thick" paint job on it. After color sanding the Hell out of it looked pretty good. I rebuilt the carb. and as somebody else said brake adjustments every 1000-1500 miles, and changed oil on it. Ran great and one one trip did 19mpg doing a steady 65.
