hey everyone! i have been stopping by time to time, but i finally registered! i wanted to be able to join all the posts! i would love to be able to purchase a car, but no garage....sigh! so i will just have to enjoy reading about what everyone is doing with theirs for now. i hope by the end of next yr to have a car up and running, but we'll see. have to find one i like first..hehe..so many to "want"! i also hope to learn some things about restoring/customizing these cars and making them fit my style....tough but still girlie.. we made it to temple for the drag race/the kontinentals! had a good time...so many great cars! looking fwd to going to more stuff like that! i have a VW...but dont worry, i will not be posting anything about that car.....unlike someone else!! hahahahahahah.......i thought that post was too freaking funny!

that is true...but i dont think my apt complex would like it if i set up shop down there in the parking lot...hehe. we hope to have a place next year(jan)...we have two vespa scooters to complete as it is...then onto bigger and better things/projects! i cant wait....i'm not very handy, but i think if it came to working on something i could be proud of , i will learn how to use the tools to get me there. i dont know too many girls working on cars..just one, but if she can do it, so can i!!!

Welcome, byrd! What part of East Texas are you in? There are a few other HAMBers out there, I think. If you aren't TOO far from Dallas, there's a bunch of stuff going on all the time... but if you've been lurking, you already know that!

even though hot rods are cool.....i think hot topic would kill it... it's a good place to work, very good place!!, but once we carry something that a particular group likes, then they hate us for carrying it. then theres the price of things....we would most likely have to over charge the customer. we carry some favorite brands like lucky 13,dickies and we have carried rat fink before. tyler isnt the best location for "cool" so these styles dont do so good. i know in calif we carry custom style shirts from locals there(cant remember who) so we mainly stick to things that are safe and easy sellers( rock t's). for the stores that do have a scene in the area(big cities) we try to get those stores some things to try out. willowbilly from van= if you see anything good for sale that runs, let me know! i like early 50's fords and chevy's. there's a place past athens we found that has a "lot" of fords it looks like. we are checking it out tomorrow. dont think they have anything that runs though...but it will be fun looking/taking pics. as far as a pic goes...i dont have anything current. and i am pretty picky on what gets posted....i'm a girl remember! hehe...once i get more familiar here, then i'll see what i can do.

Did you see the 1930 Chev truck just south of the Interstate on the way to Athens? Its very cool. Willowbilly is at the swap meet in Chickasha for a couple of day. He may know of cars in your area.
I think it's great that there are more women becoming interested in cars. I'm also glad to see that at least a few have decided to go toward hot rods rather than to the import scene, as most seem to.

well....i wasnt able to go look at the cars as i was hoping too. i was a bad manager today and didnt know i had to work..oopsie! thank goodness to my other****t mgr, he called me to see where i was...hehe. oh well.. i'll go next sunday and take some pics to post! **pics(of yourself) are ok to post, as long as they are respectful..and no, this doesnt mean in short skirts and boots hehe. i dont see the girls here asking to see you guys w/o your shirts on! this isnt a pick up joint, as far as i can tell! hehe... so, if there ever is a thread about posting your pic so others can see what you look like, then i might join in.
