yea...I responded to the same Craig's list add, but my funds are all tied up in a house flip at this time...you lucked out...!@#$... Nice...glad you got it...if not me...darn thang probably wouldn't of fit in my garage anyway... Let me know if you need any help...
Good call. I was always looking for either a DeSoto or a Chrysler.. just so happens this one is the latter. Also, it's hard to change a white car to black in Photoshop.
Wow, man... what a score! Only beautiful things can come from this. I look forward to seeing your progress on her... ...and welcome to the cult that is CHRYSLER!
"That car looks like a SHARK!" Quote from a 6 year old the first time he layed eyes on my 59 Fury. People love these Forward Looks and so did the buyers at Barret-Jackson. Enjoy your ride. Lots of folks will walk by at car shows but those who "get it" will talk your ears off. Lots of stuff to be found on Ebay. I scored a set of extremly rare finned aluminum valve covers for a 318 Poly, a cigarette lighter, turn signal repair kit and switch by searching once a week. In the words of the late Gray Baskerville, "build it right and drive the snot out of it." . ..... see you on the road.
Man those wheels and a little cleaning really set that car off. I really like that chopped on. You may gotta do it. But for the most part get it going and drive it!!!!!!! I have seen you way to long with no car.
I think the harness is alright, I just need to convert it from a 12v generator to a 12v Ford 3-wire alternator. Plus the distributor wiring. I'll let you manage that phase of the project if you want.
Now that is one of the most beautiful rides i've seen in a long time....Not too many cars have the WOW factor for me...But this one did it!!!
Hate to bring an old thread up but I thought some of you might like to see it with whitewalls. Cleaning it up and getting ready to put an earlier 331 Hemi in it to get it on the road..
Yeah, all Chryslers had dual headlights in 1957 except for those sold in states that had not yet legalized dual headlights. I believe single headlight cars were sold in Nevada and Arizona. I can't swear to it, but only a couple of states were that way in '57. In 1958 everybody went to the dual headlight platform. There were very few single headlight '57s sold and it is rare to come across one today.
Your car is awesome. I would love to own a car like that. I'm sure you have heard this before, but if you ever want to sell it shoot me a pm. It would look nice sitting next to my '57 Chrysler 300-C.
