I had a former co-worker that bragged about his 49 chevy truck all the time. I never seen it just heard about it. So i kept telling him to drive it to work one day. He finally did and the rear wheel came off while he was going down the highway at 65mph. It sheared off the studs and tore the fender up real bad. Atleast thats his story. I never did see his truck. Could of made it up.
I had a 9 inch rear end that the wheel came loose on till i changed the wheel studs on it. No matter how hard you tightened them
It's called the new car break in blues. feeling sorry for you though..............it's ****py but happened in one form or another to all of us on the HAMB. I could fill volumes on my first new car ride experiences. Keep the AAA card available at all times.
I'm very particular about checking my lug nuts... and still, somehow I had a wheel get loose and wallow out the bolt holes on one of my old wheels on my '65 c10 truck. I don't know if I was really tired after a brake job or what, but it was damaged. My mechanic found it when he was repairing something I didn't want to get into. It's a new to you old car, so go around and check all the nuts/screws and what not. -W
Oh yeah it totally ****s. Old cars kick you in the nuts regularly, this is just the beginning Come think of it I was almost to AAA to register my car that had just come off the transporter when the idler arm ripped off the frame making it very difficult to steer. Luckily I got it into a parking lot and didnt even block traffic too bad. I think I could only steer right, kinda. Hey, at least I was a AAA member, the to w was free! Some years I never use it. Some years I've totally maxed it out!
Damn that ****s, Hope you get it fixed soon. That thing will look awesome with some of chris fox's striping on it !!!
