Nothing wrong with owning two cars at the same time. (It is not, as that you are cheating on the Galaxie ...)
Thanks guys. "What upgrades does Chevy have?" Fat man front suspension, disc brakes , 355, AC, tilt wheel, door poppers, new headliner and seats. As far as the Galaxie goes, I still like it but it needs some money to be sprinkled on her. Showing her age. I rebuilt the engine years ago. Roof is starting to seperate at factory seam in back and two rot holes in the front upper windshield corners.
Nothing against the Ford, but... I dig the Chev. (although...I'd perform a sidepipe-ectomy). Are the caps Pontiac? If yes, they look good. Food for thought - sounds like the Ford may need some rust repairs that may take it off the road a bit leaving you to drive the Chev. You could decide after, or decide if you want to be without wheels for a bit. Let's see more pics of the Chev! Gotta56forme/Scott
Can't tell a guy what to do in this kind of situation because I don't know what his car kitty has for the expenses of two cars at one time. 54 Chevy 2 doors are special to me as my grandparents bought a 210 new and drove it until they traded it for a 61 Brookwood wagon in 61. I road a lot of miles in that 54 in that period including vacation trips to the ocean and fishing trips to the mountains. On the other hand, my neighbor aross the street in Texas had a 64 500 XL that same color with an all white interior in it. One of the classiest Fords I ever rode in.
I appreciate the Chevy, but I would definitely hang onto the cool 64 Ford. I always liked that year of Ford Galaxy.
Dang, I love a Galaxie, and I was gonna say keep it. But that Chevy could be really cool with a few things like a steering wheel etc. Plus it sounds like you're ready to move on. What is your perfect '54 Chevy? How about a drop & some pinstripes with chrome reverse? Happy to spend your $, lol.
Thanks for the clarification. I knew it was a 54, that was a mistype. The title says Bel Air so that's why I thought it was. Haven't had a chance to get into it yet and see what's what and needs tweaking.
