I do a lot more reading on here than I do posting, but i got a new car yesterday and thought I'd share. It's borderline HAMB friendly I think. I know it a more door, but I was always under the impression bigger is better.
65 Bel Air 50,000 miles I bought it from the second owner who got it from his grandmother. Originally from Oklahoma where I guess they don't use salt. It's been in St. Louis for about 5 years, sitting outside. 283 with a 2 barrel and a powerglde. Everything is as it came from the factory with the exception of dealer installed A/C. I have a 54 210 that is getting a frame off in my garage, my plan for this one is to be a driver in the meantime. I will probably leave the 283 and glide for now, and get some paint on it. If i do any upgrades for power I plan on using late 60sish parts... with the exception of power disc brakes. That being said, here's what it looks like.

Cant help but like it,My grandpa had one just like it.

A good fine grit wet sand and maybe a buff would give ya some cleaner patina.

Cool car. I wish I had kept my '65 Biscayne. 454 with a 6 speed.

Can't help but like it, my thoughts exactly.
..454 and a 6 speed, I like the way you talk. You really should have kept it.

Back in the 70s in Tulsa, there was a guy who consistently won bracket racing every weekend, with a car just like yours, white 65 Bel-Air 4 dr, 283, 'glide. He ran right on the numbers every run, amazingly consistent.

I bought a one-owner '65 Impala in Tulsa in '98, 80,000 original miles, no dents, no rust. I moved and had to sell it. Wish I still had it.

I've always wanted a car with no rust. Being from chicago originally and now St. louis, its hard to come by without major dollars. This one is as close as I've come. It does have a small hole in the right fender but totally fixable. All the rest is mostly surface that i can hopefully get cleaned up. My first old car was a 67 caprice 4 door hardtop. I loved that car and had it for about 6 years. I sold it last fall, the rust was out of control.

  10. I like it. 62 - 65 Impalas and Bel-Airs are my favorite years.

It's not any bigger than the 2 door version, the interiors are the same size, so is the roof length, the front doors of the two door are just longer. If you had the doors and door jambs from a 2 door post donor car like the one shown above you could swap them onto this car and have a 2 door post, would look real nice that way.
