Yea, I can’t do that Rick. My dad worked for GM for 28 years, my brother works for them now, I worked for them for a while, and my sister in law works for Chrysler. As much as I never plan to buy a new GM car, I also can’t buy a Japanese car. That was like cuss words growing up and I still sort of think that way. :D

My Last of the V8s Tundra was built in Texas by Americans, does that Count?
Haha! It was just a suggestion. For Jeff
    Guys
I love my old Fords Mopars, but I don’t Trust my New Bronco, over the Jap pick ups though.
    Or anything since the “Infotainment”
    Systems Started!

I don’t know, I have childhood trauma from all the times my dad broke down from never buying anything reliable.
I guess that’s why it bugs me!

All right, back to Square body!
I’d like to find a 67 to 72 short bed FORD but they’re expensive!!!

I used to like the big 3 USA automakers, Chrysler cars and trucks were my favorite. Right up until about the mid 70s, then all brands became just tolerable. Then the big 3 started importing foreign cars and trucks, and I liked them all a lot less. Then Chrysler got bought out by a foreign company, and we were sort of down to only two American built, and they were getting hard to determine which were good, and which were not good. Sadly today, the best American car company is probably a Japanese company building cars here.
All that doesn't matter much. The newest vehicle I ever bought was a year old at the time of purchase, that was a 2004 model year car bought in 2005. We still have it, and its still the newest vehicle we have. At some point I may need to buy a newer vehicle, but it wont be much newer, I have a p***ionate dislike for any thing newer then around 2008.

It's more than that too. People say well these cars are ***embled in Kentucky, Or wherever. But the point is where the money ends up at the end of the day. I prefer my money go to an American manufacturer. I will never buy a foreign car. Unless it's a Ferrari or something, and I don't think we need to worry about THAT.

All right guys back to Jeff’s truck!
Sorry, dude didn’t mean to get off topic, but this is the off-topic channel. I guess anyway I found some cool square bodies. With Mags!
Too bad you couldn’t find one of those old round tube grills from back then, instead of all this billet stuff!

So, back to the topic at hand. A buddy called me today to see when I was headed to Springfield for the SWMO Hot Rod Hundred and happened to ask how this project was going. I mentioned I needed to find some brackets and he said he had them. Sure enough, sent me pics and he has everything I need. I’ll stop at his place on my way to Springfield since he is in Tulsa and get them picked up.
