Cool and that dually may be my favorite! Thanks!

Also, did get a couple things done last night after my son was tired of working on his Camaro. Little by little…

Oh, and while we were out in the shop working on his car, the widow that I got this and the shoebox from called to check what kind of progress I was making. She seemed surprised that I wasn’t driving it yet. That is after it sat at her house without running since 2020. Anyway, seemed she more wanted someone to ask her how she was doing. Ended up talking to her for a few minutes about whether she should sell her house and property that she has lived on for 40 years or not and move to town.

When I was a bartender at whamplers lake in Michigan there was this 90 yo Cherokee woman that lived next door to the bar. I used to go over there and watch John Wayne movies with her and smoke pot.... Lol. She was awesome, and same, just wanted someone to hang with. When she died I wasn't around, but afterward her daughter brought over this creepy clown decoration from the 40s and said she wanted me to have it. Still got it in the garage sitting with my car stuff decorations....

I figured out that I seem to be missing some bracket pieces for my A/C compressor. Found some pics online of how it should mount. I know I am missing the bar that comes from the intake but also don’t have something that the top slider bracket seems to mount to.

Seems pulling the intake was a great idea. Bolts were loose, ****py job applying sealer, etc. Guarantee it would have leaked like crazy… This is why I am checking over everything close.

It looks like it was never sealed, or the evac messed up and the motor had some serious crankcase pressure.

Almost seems like bathtub silicon or something. Whatever it is, it is all getting s****ed off.

Yea, it was never sealed at all. Brand new intake and brand new engine that has never been fired. Found a nice shiny intake under the dirt it ac***ulated over the past few years sitting.

Some people take no pride in doing anything at all.

Agreed. I was thinking the same thing. I’m thankful that the engine was new from Jegs. I have just been suspect of anything outside the engine and for good reason. As I was taking the intake off, found lots of little things either on wrong or not tight. I should be good to go once I start back together from here. I think it is mainly just what you say…that it was beyond what they had ever really done and they were over their heads.

Already checked all that Mark. :D I think I am about done under the truck other than bleeding the brakes. Just as a reminder, another piece that I already dealt with was the fact that they replaced all the parts in the brakes, bled the brakes, and then gave me the new brake hoses with it when I bought it... Oh, and I did verify that everything about the brakes was installed right. But, I am tempted to double check that again now since I still need to paint the rear drums.

Better to find that kind of thing in your shop rather than on the road when it fails. I've spent the better part of 2yrs finding and correcting others work on my '57.

Just bumping this thread mainly for my own motivation. I came real close to getting the intake back on last night after going and getting some different bolts. But, after doing way too many other things, it ended being almost 9 pm before I would have made it out to the shop...so, I didn't make it. The good/bad news is that I think the Model A deal likely fell through. So, I should have time to be full speed ahead back on this after being sick a few days, being busy with work, etc.

That is except this thing came home Sunday. But, not messing with it at all other than maybe finding some tires and painting the wheels until the pickup is running…

GM parts counter sells a special silicone for sealing intakes. I believe it was invented for a TSB on TPI manifolds. Well worth the money.

Haha! I see you may be biased! :D This is a pretty solid car with a rebuilt ‘59 235, rebuilt brakes, new gas tank, etc. The main issue is some ****py bodywork making it look worse than it is as well as a missing grille. Oh, and it also has some late model bucket seats in the front that don’t come anywhere close to looking correct.

Yea, the only other pic I have related to where the A’s were is this one from yesterday after they were all gone. There was quite the crew hauling stuff off it seems.

Anyway, I’ll get some more pics of the 37 sometime soon Sam. It seems I have been busy with something about every evening lately. I did start it up to show my oldest son that it actually runs decent this evening. Bit, I didn’t get any pics of anything.

Puddin has got that big time Youtube money to spend. I guess we all know what his future videos will be about.

That's what I hear. I guess I didn't recognize anyone in the pic other than Farm Truck. But, a couple other guys I showed recognized Puddin. The buddy of mine that was going in with me on the deal (we thought we had made) went down yesterday and found a few other things he wants to drag home. The whole situation ended up somewhat of a mess, but I figure I just wasn't meant to deal with it right now. I'm just glad that someone got the stuff and that it isn't just headed to a crusher.
