  3. I noticed that there was some pressure build up in the Winters QC last time I checked the level so just installed a remote breather. It’s a small oil catch can and installed it so it’s tough to see plus blends in with the rest of the area. Not shown is the hose that now attaches it to the fitting on the top of the QC.

  4. Took the Vicky to Mill Bay on Vancouver Island Saturday morning for the LG Speed and Kustom reliability run. Raining when I left Parksville and cleared up for the day on the drive. The Buick nailhead is running fantastic with no complaints.

Roger, How was the turnout for Lee’s run? Also I have found that when the differential vent is in the center close to the ring gear it will fling off the ring gear and be a problem. If you find that the catch can fills up try moving the vent fitting to one of the axle tubes.

  6. It was a great turnout and definitely a lot of cars that I have not seen. Each year is definitely getting better. There was a pickup from the mainland and a car from Salt Spring Island.
Thanks for the tip and I haven’t checked it since install. I was more concerned with the pressure buildup and that is no longer an issue.
The car is running fantastic and since resolving some steering issues, it’s really nice to drive. I need to reroute the exhaust further back as it presently dumps before the diff which is basically behind the seat.

Great to hear! Lee and Shannon are great people and really look forward to doing this. My cousin and I drove our cars up from Washington last year but had a conflicting schedule this year. Hopefully a few of us will make it up next year.

  8. FYI, a Kia Soul cover fits really well on a fender less Vicky and possibly a sedan

  9. IMG_0684.jpeg IMG_0685.jpeg I have been thinking about relocating the gas tank since I got the car. I am a huge fan of the Rolling Bones cars and it was an inspiration of the previous owner. There is an aluminum storage box behind the seat that housed the battery and miscellaneous stuff. Spent many hours measuring and determined that it would work as a fuel tank. Battery will stay in its original place in a separate box. Gain a couple gallons capacity and the quick change becomes visible. Awaiting filler neck, cap, sender unit adapter, threaded fittings for fuel delivery and vent, then will have the welding completed. The sender unit has not been accurate and will replace it with a float less version

Great story and car. Having done countless V8 quick changes I like to locate the vent in the left axle tube about 10-12 inches from the center. Minimum grease loss and vents the rear good. I normally don't need a hose to carry away the grease.

  11. My issue was pressure build up and the valve that was there was not working. No issues now in that regard.

My thought would include raking the A pillars just a tad to dial it in closer to the deuce profile and less that of the model A that snuck in on it when the lid was hammered.
Beautiful momentum. Lots done in relatively little time.
    Great work.

  13. Awaiting Tanks float less sender unit to arrive so I can clock the adapter for wiring and then off for welding. Also awaiting a pair of straps for an early 70’s Vette which I will need to modify for fit.

  14. Removed the tank for a better look and liking what I see. Decided not to reinstall the spreader bar and will trim the rails close to the cross member as well as relocate the tail lights under the body. I will be able to bring the tail pipes to the rear body edge as well with the additional real estate
