They are actually the roller bearings from the pinion support bearing. Check out the photo below -- all of the roller bearings were gone and sitting in the rear axle housing!

Nice wagon!! A pillar back is the same as my '58 Bermuda, it's a rust bucket project originally from Texas.

    Such a great car. Gary

  9. Ok, Nick, how much are you going to inspect before you are confident that it is roadworthy? Wheel bearings, brake parts, fuelpumps and filters and generators. That is what I used to have to replace according to my memory.:)

Haha... well, I just put another 300 miles on it yesterday. Now I am pretty confident that the car is reliable and road worthy. The engine was rebuilt about 5k miles ago, fuel system is good (new tank/pump), it's been converted to alternator... etc. Disc brakes up front are a planned upgrade.. soon!

One thing I am going to do soon is change to a 500 Edelbrock. Right now it has a 600 Edelbrock with vacuum secondaries that I'm not real happy with. Just too much carb. for this engine. It's a 292 (now 301) with a mild cam.

    Nice wagon Nick!

The rear is the last part I would have thought to give up.

Good call on the carb. I already had that carb, that's why it was used but the 500 is a better choice and appropriate to the ci. [emoji106]

Mike, I was just given one by my kids but is in project form. What was or is your best source for information on the wagon. Specifically I’d like to upgrade a few things.
