Hey fellas and ladies, I'm Chris. I live in the Pittsburgh area, been lurking on the HAMB for a long time but now finally have a reason to contribute. Last year, I was working out in Utah and had the opportunity to pick up a pair of 1965 Rancheros in Idaho. Neither one ran or had any real paperwork, but I couldn't pass up the price and picked them up and shipped them back to Pitt. The idea being: I bought one for my father and one for me and we build them together as a father-son project. Pops has been a mechanic for 40+ years and has his own shop so I am under his tutelage. I've been working as a machinist for the past 7 years and just started work as an engineer. I wouldn't consider myself a mechanic by any means, just a gearhead that wants to learn everything I can. Anyway, just figured I'd introduce myself. I'll try and use the search feature to the best of my ability and not plague you guys too much with dumb questions. Have a good one, Chris
Welcome to the HAMB! I always like to here about father and son projects. My dad is 86 and in very good health. He's never been into Hot Rods or cars though. He does like to do family stuff, like going on road trips, etc. He's a blessing to our family. I hope that you do a build thread, about working with your dad on the Rancheros. And feel free to ask questions. This is a great place for us gear heads. We never stop learning new stuff. lol Ron...
Thanks for the warm welcome, fellas! Look forward to learning from yinz and sharing pops' and my build with you all.
