If they are $30 a piece like the old ones are today, I'd be all over them. Just started a 94 collection not too long ago.

I machined the upper throats to a larger dia. machined the venturi's larger, altered another area I have not talked about as of yet...and hand polished from the venturi transition on up inside the carbs including the crossover bars ect....then hand sanded and polished the entire outsides as well.......before breaking the camshaft in [3] spots recently it's best was a 10.37 in the 1/4....The whole setup worked rather well for not knowing what I was doing......Littleman

They did research on producing Nailhead parts, but it doesn't seem that there are any this year. And there are a lot more Nailheads than DeSoto Hemis. So really don't hold your breath.

Good on Edelbrock to keep introducing proper Hot Rod parts made in the USA , that's how the strong survive. Interested in the cfm too , the quality will not be an issue, proper engineering from people who know carbs.

Hopefully they will get it right, unlike some of the others who have tried to reproduce certain early carbs. Not being a skeptic, but I have sure fixed a lot of the other "new" carburetors.I hope for the best!

For those at SEMA, Vic really does love to talk to folks at events and tends to be pretty responsive to suggestions they put infront of him, so if you see him, don't be afraid to let him know what stuff your looking for.

  14. I agree with you on the Desoto parts.

Fwiw, I started asking the guys at the Edelbrock tent/trailer about 455 Buick aluminum heads since it seemed the BBB Performer intake was a good seller.

About three years later the BBB aluminum heads came out.

Not that I had anything to do with it.

Geez, I've been asking and emailing ARP for several years to make their killer good bolts found in the "regular" bolts section of their catalog in 9/16" and 5/8" for street rod four bars, radius rods etc.

I'd really like to run some ARPs instead of the "wonder where the hell those came from" bolts with questionable ancestry....:(

Simple. Some folks like to buy new carbs. I look at it this way. If I needed a holley 4 barrel for a late model engine, even though I could get old holley 4 barrels all day long for cheap (or free), I would still consider buying a new one because they are available.

Same thing with Holley 94's. It took me many, many months and multiple swap meets and eBay purchases to get a somewhat matching set of Holley 94's for my 6 X 2. Having additional options in the traditional hot rod world does get me excited! :)

I'm just excited that there may be a good rebuild kit and small parts available from a competent manufacturer! Tired of having to fix EVERYTHING I buy!

This is cool I hope they are as good as the English 97s. Those ones are about $450.00 each. Figures I have 8 old ones half way through rebuilding.

Could this be the carb that Dennis Carpenter has been advertising as "COMING FALL 2009" ?? Catalog says 200 bucks apiece. His p/n is 8BA-9510-N ... is that a Ford p/n ??

  20. Looks pretty nice. It's getting harder to re-build the old ones, might be nice to have a new set. :D

I forgot that the catalog lists those as $200. If that ends up being the case, that's a steal!!

That would take me out of the ring instantly. 94s arent hard to find used and they sure aren't pricey.
