Things are starting to heat up at the Monterey Club.

 

is there a host hotel?...or a place close by...

 

sucks I'll be in that area but not until June 14th-June 17th, would have liked to hit this up...let me know of any shows/cruises/hang outs for the days I'll be down there would like to meet some of you guys

i herd tdy... that you have to be pre registered..... for sat??? or ya cant bring car or bike???

 

We didn't say anything like that at the organizational meeting last nite. There may be some confusion because of the flyer at the crusin south florida site

It's my understanding that as long as we have space, rides that meet the pre 64 criteria and have $15 entry fee (for car/bike and driver) can get in (prior to judging). Passengers are $10 just like the walk-in spectators.

Maybe Rob (movinman) will pop in here later with some input on this. Give Russ a call for clarification if you want (number on the flyer link above). Looks like a local call for you

There is no pre registration. First come, first served. There is limited space, and the gates open at 4pm. We have room for about 75 cars.

Revenge of the Tiki day!!!

Because, at sixty, I'm one of the oldest club members, they are putting me on point to separate the pre '64 cars from the late models that can't enter the show. I'm sure that by the time I'm allowed my first beer, I'll feel as beaten as a rented mule

im goin to bring some of our rat bikes... and some old school cb45o s one has billet wheels.... hope its not a prob.. its wifes bike... i know how some people are about that...

 

Revenge of the Tiki aftermath.

It was hot! Of course, there were plenty of SNAFU's but I think it was a success. I don't know if we broke even but we were close. I think there were about sixty cars in the show field (with the Saints and Sinners host club cars out front and not part of the show field) and we were prepared for seventy-five cars. I am bone-tired and heading off as part of the cleanup detail this afternoon. I'll try to post some pics in a day or two.

Here are some pix I took on Sat eve... I just got a new "amateur" digital camera so the shots are somewhat poorly composed. Along with all the cars and beers I met a long-time friend (and fellow HAMBer) and his son there and we got to talk about old times. I also got an invitation to join the Procastinators car club with the 8 other guys who can't remember when the meetings are or what car they are working on. Sorry if I missed your ride but I stopped shooting after several beers. More sedans came in later, too. I did leave early and missed the Tahitian dancers, but in doing so I managed not to have my car towed from the Post Office lot. Better be lucky than drunk and stupid, eh? BTW, there seems to be no shortage of black primer in south Florida. You CAN use another color satin or primer, eh? Later, Gary
