I always thought that the best events are the ones that allow you to use your car. This is especially true with Hot Rods. I can think of no better place to do this legally on the east coast other than Beaver Springs Dragway! Scarry Larry runs a great event there in the Fall, the Jalopy Showdown Drags, and We (Gasser Magazine) used to run a Gasser Nationals there. I run the races for Gasser Magazine and we partnered with Gasser Madness to bring some great nostalgia racing events to you. Our first event was Rock'N'Race last year at Dragway 42 and it was a huge success! This event will be very similar to that event! Here is a link to the event website that should answer many questions. https://moyergraffiti.wixsite.com/timecapsulenationals In a nut shell, there will be time trials both Friday and Saturday, along with fun runs for the show cars. Friday night there will be a heads up flag start race for all the show cars! Then a band to cap the evening. Saturday will have a trophy presentation for the show car guys. Saturday night will be heads up racing for all classes. Trophies for this. It will be the very first event for the much anticipated Heritage Gas division, curious to see if anyone has finished a car yet for this as close as it gets to period correct gasser. Band again on Saturday night. Sunday is race day and there is a $1000 purse for each division. If you have never been to Beaver Springs, it is the perfect setting for nostalgia drag racing, there are no concrete walls or guardrails. Just green grass on each side of the track. The pictures are the best! Just ask some of the great photographers that go to this track. I am attaching a flyer. Please ask questions! And if your planning on going, post a picture of your ride! This sounds more up my alley. I'll never have the time to take it as serious as many other do (and major props for those of you who do)
Sounds like fun... and close by! My band played at the first(?) Rock & Race at 42 a number of years ago and it was a good time. I can't wait to see what you do with Beaver Springs.
Camping at Beaver Springs Dragway is $20 for the event per motorhome, trailer, or tent. Early bird set up starts at 10am on Thursday and is an additional $20.
Beaver Springs Dragway will have 112 octane for $12 a gallon and Alcohol for $6 a gallon for this weekend!
Magazines and Web site representation for the Time Capsule Nationals this weekend are Traditional Rod and Kulture, Gasser Magazine, Gasser Madness, and possibly Hot Rod, Hot Rod Deluxe, and Road Kill Magazine...…………….
