new exaust what dia.?

    ive got a ford 390fe and im gonna redo the exaust system on it with simple old true dual and glass packs.

    my question is what diameter should i use? my brother says i should use three inch but i was thinkin 2.5"

    IMO I think 2.5 would be your best bet.

    I'd say 2.5 would let the motor breathe well and perform better than 3in

    why dont smithys come in 2.5, did they think every body had a small block er somthin?

    how about the length? i was thinking 24" with 18" case.

    All depends on what you are putting it in. Open cab, truck, car, sedan...2"-2.5" is fine. If you've got a closed cabin, you probably want more tuning volume so you don't get that DROOOOOOOAAAAAANNNNNN in your head going down the road. Then again, if you've got some teeth that need to be vibrated out, it might be fine!

    its a closed cab pickup, i want it lound outside the truck, so i was thinkin of welding them in uder the bed.

    im thinking of using brockman mellowtone steel packs, anybody use these before?
