I know.

Most of the people alienated by the change will be the older, less computer-savvy among us. And they are some of the best contributors. I don't want to sway your decision, progress is progress. I mean, at some point you were stepping on the 640x480 folks' toes too.

BTW, I believe Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 automatically resizes image files to best fit the window they're viewed in. I know mine does.

 

people posting VERY large pictures in the threads is most likely the culprit. Also

I think its a great idea. But... if you have a dinosaur monitor and set the resolution too high, the screen will go blank on you. At least my old computer did that to me once. I think I put it on 1280x whatever and then got a blank screen. Plugged in a bigger monitor and everything worked peachy.

I can see it as long as I max my window. But when I click on a attachment or go to the next page of posts my window automatically minimizes. So I keep jumping back and forth. No biggy.

Can't wait to see the new stuff!

 

For the guys worried about the font being too small when they switch resolutions, did you know you can change the text size by holding down the "Ctrl" key and hitting either "+" or "-" ?

Also works with a wheel-mouse..... hold down "Ctrl" and roll the wheel forward and backward to change text size.

regarding the monster res huge pics people are posting. I wonder if there is a way we(Ryan) can limit the input size so it restricts it to a make of 1024X768 so you(the reader) would not have to scroll left to right to see the whole image.

 

I can see da arrow! But it's probably cuz I got one of these "Gold Chainer" monitors.

Someone told me that 800 x 600 was traditional so I put some flat black duct tape around the edges of my monitor to cut down the screen size....best of both worlds...it's high tech modern but looks traditional!
