Hi all, looking at buying a firewall and floor kit for an A sedan….*****in Products or Brookville Roadsters ***emblies? I can get four inch recess kits from either of them. Leaning towards the Brookville because it looks more original. Any thoughts?? Fitting a Ford 302 in a stock dimension frame and wanting to retain stock hood. Thank you!
*****in' is now https://absolutesheetmetal.com/about/ They are listed as here in Chino Valley. I don't have personal experience with either, so can't help with that.
Thanks for that. One reason I’m looking at Brookville is they are closer and the upper part of the firewall still looks stock. I have already bought the cowl top from them as well
I'm ***uming it's for a model A? Give Jeff a call at Absolute Sheetmetal. Good Mom & Pop company making a excellent product.
Just flip the stock one and be done. If yours is garbage, find one that isn't. There are plenty of them out there. *****in firewalls look dumb. 3blap.
As said by @pprather and @3blapcam suggests just flip the firewall and you’ll have plenty of room to fit the sbf. Now that you want to go with the 302 ford I recommend you shorten it up a bit with a Motorsport SVO waterpump 90degree oil filter adapter,Motorsport headers as they dump in the back by the firewall rather then the middle. Your motor mounts are in the middle so the headers will be out of the way and with a few simple plates you can fab up engine mounts and just use the brisket style mounts. Being you are using a 1960s motor build and so . The steering box you can use Saginaw style box like. 525 out of an early jeep 1972 and newer and bury it under the motor mount and oil filter. The alternator and be buried on the p***enger side using an early ford bronco smog / ac bracket. You can dress it a bit more traditional with Bluethunder motor sports parts . They make Shelby engine speed goodies such as Weber setups or 3x2 intakes . Remember Carol Shelby’s cobra with a 260 289 ran pretty darn good
I believe Ford discontinued the pulley for this pump. I found CVF Racing now offers the pump and pulleys and I would take John's advice and use it
Thank you @uncle buck didn’t know about the discontinuation . The past supplier was a local CNC manufacturer that making numerous parts for Ford under there license. I did have to machine the waterpump pulley but sold me a raw blank unfortunately this was many years ago.
