I've replaced the floor pans in my 1936 Ford 3 window coupe. I've purchased 3m seam sealer to seal her up. What's a good product to put on the underside of the floor pans? The car is painted and I'm attempting to not mess the paint up therefore I'm not wanting to spray anything.. Any suggested products? thanks for any suggestions.

  2. I did exactly what you are talking about on my 39 sedan. After seam sealer on the top and bottom side of the floor, i covered everything self etch primer and toped with Majic brand truck and tractor paint in gloss black from Tractor Supply. Gloss paint will not hold nearly the amount of dirt and road grime that a flat paint will, just because of the smooth texture, and this stuff from tractor supply is pretty tough. I did this with the body on the frame. Covered all of the frame in aluminum foil, them covered the floor with cardboard and slid under with a gallon bucket of the paint and couple of brushes, worked great. The Majic paint flows so nice with a brush I don't have any brush strokes in the paint. Here is some photos of how it started and how it ended up, the top at least, it was near impossible to get pictures of the bottom side, also while the floor was out i stripped and cleaned the frame and painted it with the same tractor supply paint. I have been using it on chassis for years.
