I'm been watching this place for a couple years. I have had a 40' std 2dr that looked traditional other than the bright red paint. Its was just a modern rod that didn't really fit this place. I sold it last month and have been looking for a replacment. I really wanted a 39 Deluxe or another 40' std but I have just ended up with a 39 std. The more I look at it the more its growing on me.

I just got back today from a spur of the moment trip to central Iowa. 1680 solo miles Left at 6:00 sat morning and got back at aprox 2:00 today. Damn I'm tired now.

The car is all original other than paint. Its very solid needing only minimal floor work. Been sitting in a barn since 62' The flathead easily turns so I hope there to be not much effort to get it to breath life again.

Here she is at one of the gas stops this morning.

Welcome. I'm kind of partial to the deluxe 39s myself, but you can make the std's look just as good. I see you stopped at the McDonalds up in OK I believe....it's been a few yrs since i went there. Keep us updated on the progress of the 39. My dad has a 39 Deluxe sdn and coupe, 40 Std sedan and two deluxe (one coupe/one sedan)

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I hope to start work on it in the next few months. I am helping a buddy build his 750+hp SS454 pickup. If I put him off any longer for any of my own stuff he is going to kill me. :D

I think I met you and your husband to be about a month ago at Kellers. I love your Merc. I was in my 40' right before I sold it. This was it.
