Hello all, while driving down Harrisburg st in houston, i ran across a 2 door 53 chevy for sale on the side of the road. as long as i can remember, i have wanted an automobile from that year. The owner was asking $3000 for the car. after driving & closely examining the car, i agreed to purchase it. i have often seen them in fields rusting...and to run across this 1-owner, w/****le, complete & running car was a feeling like no other. later that evening trying to figure out how the hell to pay for it around christmas time or if it was a wise investment was another feeling. While researching more about my purchase online, I ran across the HAMB. What is the consensus on these cars? Rare, hard to find, dime a dozen I got ripped??? Would like to hear any feedback. One thing is for sure, I own it now. eL O
No mater what you paid for it you will always find it cheaper. If you like it that is all that matters !!! Welcome to the H.A.M.B. from Zip City !!!
What you paid is not important if you are happy with it. An old car is hard to put a value on. Just enjoy the ride. James
pail44 and Dirty2 are right--If your happy with it,then it was worth every penny. When you get a chance post some pictures of your new ride. Good luck on your project and welcome to the HAMB.
First welcome to the hamb. From what you said you were looking for a car from this year and to find a one owner with****le and running are good enough reasons for the purchase. Enjoy it that is why we buy them to begin with.
damn...i haven't even had a chance to give her a name. i appreciate the information, but at the moment still enjoying the car. if anything should come up, the hamb will be the first to know.
$3000 is a damn good price! I was looking all over Texas For a 53-54 chevy and could not find one cheaper than $4500 and not running... So I just ended up buying a 4 door and in the process of welding up the back doors ans chopping the top....Congrats on the Car and Welcome..... If you were driving down Harrisburg, you must be a Homie like me.. lol... didnt mean to offend
