Hey guys and gals, I'm Dominic from central NJ. Off the bat I'll say that I'm mainly into old Euro stuff (and bikes). Given the choice of something from the 50's-60's era I'd probably take a Porsche 356 or a BMW 507 over a Bel Air, but that doesn't mean I don't like old rods and customs. I see I originally created this account in 08, but never posted anything and I don't even remember why, maybe it was to check out some of my buddies' stuff that they post on here... I cut my teeth on a 73 VW Thing, pretty much welding a new body on it and turning it into more of a Kübelwagen, only light work on the engine, and then had to sell it to pay a hefty vet bill. But really I'm into bikes; my daily is a '75 BMW R90/6 cafe I built, and I just completed a '67 Harley-Aermacchi SS250 build for my daughter (essentially changing it from a Sportster Jr. to the light, Italian roadracer it should've been). Now if I haven't completely pissed off everybody on this forum yet, I'll bring up the reason for being here. My wife's first car and daily driver was a '54 Chrysler New Yorker. Once she got tired of pushing it, it pretty much went into storage in her brother's garage. Since we've been married, we've never owned a house with a big enough garage to move it over to be worked on, but now we do, and now it's time to get it reliable and then work from there. Right from the beginning I know it needs a new radiator, I see some rot I'll need to cut out and weld in new metal, and some other, smaller things, but we all know how it goes when you start digging into these things... That's pretty much it. Being new to this scene, it'd be a great help if anyone could recommend a good parts source for the old MoPar stuff, since parts for this car are elusive on general internet searches. I keep a blog of stuff rather than make build threads, so if you wanna check out old stuff or the progress on this, check out symphonyofshrapnel.blogspot.com Dominic
