Hi, I'm Nick, from Wellington, New Zealand. I love old hotrods and would really like to build one one day. Currently though I'm building a custom 70's bmw and a custom 70's mazda minitruck (both v8 powered), and am enjoying learning to make stuff myself and learning to use different tools. i would one day like to learn all the oldschool sheetmetal fabrication techniques, then build something really special. I love reading build threads and seeing the evolution of people's projects. I'm also doing a build thread for my minitruck project, but with videos instead of pictures and discriptions. Its not a hotrod but does have some infulence from rat/hotrods. if anyone is interested, it is here: www.youtube.com/pimppalacecustoms
Hi Nick and welcome....your projects are cool but...you may be best to step back and suss out what this place is all about. I'd hate to see a fellow kiwi get fried for Off Topic Content. just my .02 PB
hey nick..yeah i agree, best to leave the mazda and bmw for us "understandables" on oldschool...haha ill be eagerly awaiting a vid build of any hot rod youll build one day...
sorry my bad. i know what this site is about, but its an intro thread yeah, not a build thread. i joined here so that i could read the posts, and the email i got said that you've got to intro yourself when you join. i only posted pics and info cos its pretty boring saying 'hi, im nick, i like hotrods and im here to learn from you guys who build sweet sweet oldschool rides'. cheers nick
thanks. im kicking myself for not joining this forum earlier, there is some amazing craftsmanship and interesting reads. spannerswatson, when i build one ill be sure to make some videos of it. ive always wanted to do a full on ratrod, but old bodies are damn hard to get at a good price here in nz. and i dont have enough space to collect up random old parts for it at the moment haha. cheers nick
Welcome from Washington State. Another no-no Nick is the use of "ratrod" as a descriptive. Stay welcome.
your not wrong there man..decent steel bodies are an easy 10k by themselves... im keen to rip into a tudor build myself, planning to check one out next weekend.. have enjoyed watching your build vids ae...hilarious..
