hello everybody, finally getting an account here to make sure I get all of the information I can on this board. as the subject says, I'm from springfield IL, and been working on cars since I was 16. had a gear head buddy who would show me how to do any repair my car needed Once, after that I was on my own. was a good way to learn the basics. I don't currently own anything that would really be traditional. I have my 03 Dakota quad which I love. foor door pick up trucks are an amazing tool. It is my hope tht I will be able to pick up a lot of the traditional techniques to use for my various hobbies. the current hobby consuming my time is the rebuilding of a 75 Harley sportster. the goal is a pretty stripped down bike, which would have a lot of the traditional hot rod style working in elements. The one area I'm currently researching that encouraged me to join this board is in the lighting. Currently the bike has no lights left on it, so I'm working from nothing to bring it legal, with turn signals, and a head light and tail light. Right now I'm expecting to begin with car parts and if possibe modify them to work. for example, I've been eyeing the cargo light/third brake light off a pick up truck as a possible start to the tail light turn signals on the back of the bike
welcome from pekin... I second that about the jockey journal lots of good stuff there not rushing ya off tons of good stuff here if you want idea for cars I just wouldn't tell everyone...
