Gidday. Been given the good oil on the H.A.M.B by a bunch folk whilst at the NSRA-Louisville. Had a look and a listen on this site-it's got my attention, so here goes: Current ride: Aussie '63 Kustom Current Project: English Vauxhall-now 2 door coupe with Chev everything. New Addition: a 57 chev wagon named Dorothy from Kansas. If you want it, build it. Once you got it, drive it. Look forward to catching up with the Detroit connection-you know who you are. Cheers.
Well let me be the first to say Gidday, Looks like the whole family has oil running through their veins.I learnt to drive in a 64 EH wagon about 35 years ago. I still like the EJ & EH but the futuristic 1965 HD was my favorite.
Hey mate-thanks for the reply. The HD certainly was a turning point for GMH. The EJ is my 'get to the swap meet and buy stuff' ride and you how it is, you want it to look right, so you drop a bundle on it to get it cool and then move back onto the projects. It's a great car. Have lots to read through and I will be searching for tips on 57 Chev wagons. Won't ask any questions until I get more familiar with the HAMB. Cheers
Hi sweetie! Welcome to the HAMB, glad you finally made it here. I had a ball hanging out with you and Amanda while you were visiting. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner but busy as all get out around here. Just got back from a very long weekend at the HAMB Drags. What a blast! It's an event you should really try to make when you come back to visit in two years with your boys. Once again, welcome aboard mate. xoxoxo
I need to chime in here and welcome you aboard as well. I have the same excuse as Denise. (A poor excuse is better than no excuse). I picked up the Caddy last Tuesday and immediately headed for Joplin as soon as Vicki arrived. We had a great time as you can imagine by all the comments on the board. Anyway, we're glad you joined in. "Hey!!" to Amanda.
Hey Denise, wish we could've stayed for the HAMB drags. My boys were sick when I got back so I even missed out on the nostalgia drags back home here in the land downunder. The 57 is in LA and will be coming home soon. All the stuff we bought we managed to get home without paying an extra. One of my bags was 85 pounds....woohoo. Amanda is good-in Sydney on business. Say 'gidday' to Rudy and Gus. We enjoyed the shite out of ourselves and will try and plan the HAMB drags in for 24 months time.........and counting. You never know, I may win some money and be there sooner. Cheers-Jamie.
Ken, Hi. The caddy looks PHAT and you must be stoked at the turn out. Sounds like Joplin was a blast. I need to find a rich woman to support me and my rides so I can trip around like a hotrod bum doing whatever I like. I've been busy tinkering with my 48 and helping my dad on his 23T. We discovered a cheap way to set up a fuel (gas) tank in the backs of 23Ts. I will post something on the HAMB once I see if some-one else hasn't already posted something about it. We used a Volkswagon tank. Fitted straight in. Say Gidday to Vicki and will catch up again soon. Cheers-Jamie
