Been a hot rodder for more than 50 yrs, driving the same 32 Ford coupe. I have owned several 32/34 Fords and am currently driving a 32 Ford custom pick up which I recently drove to Bonneville Salt Flats for Speed Wk. During the trip my 1950 Merc engine had a problem when the Egge piston separated into 2 pieces. Has anyone else had the same problem? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the welcome, guys ! Can any body help me ? Is there any reason other than a defective piston that would cause this failure? I am uploading pics of my car & the piston. The piston is from a 1950 Merc bored .125" oversize. It is from a low mileage engine operated at usual highway speeds 2500 to 2700 rpm. Thanks alot, Pat
