    Greetings,

I've stumbled across the H.A.M.B while looking for info on rebuilding a 1929 Model A ford.

This Ford is actually my Wife's car, given to her by her father and I get the task of making it roadworthy again.

This '29 sat in a garage in Ohio since the 60s and was daily driven in the 50s when he worked 4 miles from his house. When he stopped working at the Ford tractor dealer he and had to take a job in another town and he stopped driving it and life took over and it sat to be overrun by the mice.

We moved him in with us due to health reasons and I've been 'toying' with the rebuild for over 2 years. We now found out that he has Alzheimers and I'm kind of in a race to get it roadworthy again so he can be taken for a ride while he can still remember it.

He put on 'juice' brakes in the 50s so it won't be a full restore and it won't be a performance build either but spending time reading here tells me I'll get a wealth of information here.

I finally got it down to bare frame, The motor needs to be rebuilt and I've already filled 1/2 way a 5 gallon bucket scraping off the combination of dirt/grease off of EVERYWHERE on this car.

The body will need some panels replaced but overall it is fairly solid.

Searching here has already provided a lot of meaningful information and will certainly help.

Between the reading and searching for information here, which has been invaluable I have had a chance to do some work. I rarely post here but thought I would share a photo of the progress.

The motor was rebuilt (actually a new block) because the original motor only had the water drained and it sat in a garage for 40 years and condensation and air rusted and ruined the block and head from the inside. So much for matched numbers.

Schwalms built the motor, Its only going to have a Burns intake w single 2bbl and a Snyders high compression head. It will be full fender with no chop and very near stock.

Rear end is back together, going in this weekend.

The juice brakes were added back in the 60s and over time they are all locked up so hopefully they can be freed and rebuilt. The brake lines were originally done with copper flared tubing? It will all be redone eventually.
