    Axle is done....

Now for the custom model A split wishbones.
I don't know what the real ones looked like but this is what I came up with... ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1446582850.523070.jpg
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1446582926.212921.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1446582957.799098.jpg
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1446583040.039249.jpg
I wanted to keep the strength of the forged end and weld to that.

Custom ends to go from 2.5 to 2"
So I can use the std. King pin kit with bearing for the chevy spindle.

What a great looking axle you made for the black 55, I had a dropped tube axle made for my 37 in 62' by local sprint car builder & racer Rip Erickson

Always like the look with some drop to it, you must have one hell of a bender as it would take a little grunt to bend that thick wall stuff ?

Plus your TIG welds are perfection !!!!

Oh BTW what type of camera are you using for your close up stuff, as I need some close up stuff too they are so clear

    Thanks, Don

Had an old Buffallo Rolling machine at work that could roll the smiles in the axles..Probably find it under antique machinery and when you see how it works can probably build one of your own or find one cheap, they plenty rugged....

  19. Very nice work! I have one of those new/old MAS axles for my Bonneville car. Must have got mine a while before you bought him out. Beefy.

  23. Hey BCCHOPIT, That is so very awesome workmanship you put into your axles I really like the new end design you have come up with. Maybe when you have a little free time you could put a list of axle sizes and prices together so Guys would have a idea about how much a new axle will set them back, I have a extra set of Willys spindles that i would maybe like to to put on a straight acle that would be to the stock Willys spec's. I currently ave a stock Willys drop axle under my 38 sedan, it would be great to have a straight axle. Thanks you, you put out some great work.

    Thank You...

Straight std. Make in the USA Dom axles are $300 For the most part any length.

Drops pricing is still a little up in the air as the prices for getting them bent are going up.

It's always best to just call after 6pm

It has a slight bend... There tube is crap it doesn't take much plus your king pins will fit much tighter with your new axle.
