I was sitting at an intersection when this went by and I followed it to the guy's house . He just picked it up and drove it home.......in some rain with slicks, he said it was a hand full. He hasn't heard of the H.A.M.B. but I quickly gave him an introduction and an invite to come down to the Drags. I thought you gys would enjoy the pictures

    Cool old car.

Wow, those are some LONG front leaf springs. I think my first stop would be considering cutting the front frame horns down though.

Love it! Thanks for sharing photos!!

That's a cool looking 57. It would fit right in at the Byron Meltdown, too.

Yes, it's a 327, gear drive. dual four's. I forgot to say the guy he bought it from said it had been setting for several years. The new owner only lives a few block from me.

In regards to redlinetoys : the new owner said the guy he bought it from had begged the guy before him for several years to let go of it and it had sat for 40 years. The interior looked pretty recent and there was some purple on the window felt so I am assuming the guy before probably bought it did an interior and paint and flipped it? I think if you look at the license plate it's a Minnesota 1956 plate with a 1957 Sticker on it, I don't know how reliable that is.

Thanks for posting the '57 pics. I see your truck got a nice write up in Classic Trucks magazine. Congrats.

I always looked the look of the front end of a gasser sitting way up in the air like that.

They could be a real hand full at the top end catching all that air!!!!

Most times you could move the steering wheel with one finger and barley a touch.

the guy, squid is his nickname is a old friend of mine bought it from fort dodge. his son said it was a white knuckle ride all the way home. he has plans to tidy the car up as much as possible. im betting the guy that built it was fairly good with building, but the next owner no so much. nothing time and some hours wont fix. having close access to this car, they are intimidating to be around. cant wait to drive it

I cant beleive he made it home on those old Firestone drag 500 slicks. Probably havent been made since the early 70s. I like the look of the car though.
