I have been lurking around here for a long time and figured I should do an intro before I start posting.

I am new to cars (well not new to cars but this is my first project). I have been working on my bikes over the years and as for cars just the normal maintenance on the family cars over the years. I have always wanted to get a project car but never had the funds, time, or place for it. That recently changed. Well parts of it at least. I still don't have the funds or the time but now I do have the space and I can make some time.... I love all cars/rods but have always had a place in my heart for the 50's era years. I just recently picked up a 54 Buick Special. Thought I was getting an amazing deal, well I get it home and start to really tear it down I see all the problems and headaches I am going to be in for. Hey ya live, ya learn... at least I will now know more of what to look for with my next car (and I know there will be more...) I want to try to find a local car club to hookup with so I can be the newbie and learn how to do this stuff myself. I have no plans to try and do a "restore" this is going to be my custom. My car to have fun with and learn. Something I could someday put the kids in and go down to the cruise nights in. I troll a bunch of sites and boards but I really do best learning hands on instead of just reading.

Just a little insight into the mind of this monkee...
Here is a few pics from the day I brought her home ....
